曾庆宗Zeng Qingzong 曾庆宗
a resume of Zeng Qingzong Zeng Qingzong, male, born in Chongqing on April 22, 1941, graduated from the Mathematics Dept. of Electronic Science and Thechnology University in 1965. He was promoted to be lecturer in the Dept. of Computer Science, Sichuan University and was promoted to be associate professor in 1986. He was transfered to Wushu Research Department of Chengdu Physical Culture Education Institute at the end of the same year and specialized in teaching and research work of wushu and qigong. He is now a wushu associate professor.

He was elected Chairman of the Wushu and Qigong Association of Sichuan University when he was working there. Now he holds the posts of Commitee Member of Sichuan Provincial and Chengdu Municipal Wushu Association, Vice-President of Henan Emei Boxing Research Society, Deputy Director and Secretary General of Sichuan Emei Gongfu Centre and Honorary President of Chengdu Neijia Boxing Sanshou Research Association.

Zeng Qingzong has always been engaged in the study and research work of wushu and qigong all these years. Since a child, he has been influenced and educated by Zhang Yulong, the famous Qingcheng Mountain Taoist priest called the Chief Dragon of the Five Dragons and two Monkeys.

When in the Electronic Science and Technology University he was a member of the school wushu team. In 1967, he learned bagua zhang, xingyi boxing, taiji boxing from Gao Ziying, a well known wushu specialist, Adviser of Beijing Bagua Zhang Research Association. Later he learned varities of boxings and qigong from Ye Danyi, Qingcheng Mountain Taoist priest; Yang Fufang, Tanglang Boxing specialist; Yao Zongxun, Dacheng Boxing specialist; Duan Zhiliang, Wuji Boxing specialist and Sha Guozheng, Bagua Xinyi Boxing specialist. He has a wide and profound understanding of the mysterious Chinese wushu and qigong.

Zeng Qingzong devotes himself to the collection of wushu and qigong materials and the extensive reading of various books on wushu and qigong. He has laid a solid foundation for studying and spreading Chinese wushu. He has a thorough study in the fields of Neijia series of boxing, such as Taiji, Bagua Zhang, Xinyi Boxing, Dacheng Boxing and a thorough study in wushu culture, e.g. the relation between wushu and history, military affairs, philosophy, religion, military strategy and tactics, qigong, pictographs, and medicine. He also has profound knowledge in the respects of qigong theory and practice, especially in the theories and practice of wushu qigong, Taoist qigong and Buddhist qigong and in the respect of modern scientific analysis and explanation of wushu.

Zeng Qingzong published scores of essays about qigong and wushu, which attracted the attention and appreciation of people of the same occupation. Many essays were read out at scientific discussions or conferences.
